The Dupont-Kalorama Museums Consortium
The Dupont-Kalorama Museums Consortium (DKMC) was established in 1983 to promote these “off the Mall” museums and their neighborhoods.
A Self-Guided Tour
The Dupont Circle and Kalorama neighborhoods offer visitors a distinctive combination of visual charm and historical surrounding, which is complemented by a variety of art galleries, specialty shops, hotels, and restaurants. First developed in the 1870s when the Federal City expanded after the Civil War, the Dupont Circle and adjacent Kalorama areas were resplendent by the 1920s with stately homes, embassies, and broad avenues.
