Dumbarton at Dusk
Dumbarton House 2715 Q St NW, Washington, DC, United StatesCome experience Dumbarton House in a whole new light! Dumbarton at Dusk is a new evening program the third Thursday of every month. Tour the museum after hours and experience our grounds in a different light. In July we will celebrate beloved author, Jane Austen! Create and take home your own Jane Austen inspired masterpiece as you interact with other fans of the author. Play battledore with your friends in the north garden while enjoying live music from Tommy Rueckert. Enjoy food and a cash bar from Geppetto Catering. RSVP encouraged, suggested $5 donation to support Dumbarton House and our mission of historic preservation and education.
Revolutionary War Camp: Washington’s Generals
Anderson House 2118 Massachusetts Avenue, NW,, Washington, DC, United StatesThe American Revolution Institute is pleased to announce Revolutionary War Camp Washington’s Generals, a day camp for boys and girls about the leaders who brought the patriots to victory. During the week, campers will learn about the daily challenges of generals along with the men and women who aided and influenced them throughout the Revolutionary War. Campers will dress in period officer costumes they get to keep and enjoy hands-on activities, including sewing military sashes, practicing drill musters, writing with quill pens and ink, cooking with eighteenth-century recipes, and learning how to dance. The camp will conclude with an open house for parents and friends to see demonstrations of what campers learned during the week. $400.
